Professional surfer Malia Manuel injured her MCL in 2017 which led to a five month hiatus in the middle of the season. Proper rehab and a healthy mindset got her back competing on the WCT. During her rehab she told SURFER magazine, "I meditated on bigger-picture stuff while learning form and being inspired by some special people in my life. Iâm thankful I got to know so many new friends, as well as people I will continue to work with beyond the injury rehab."
